PLC Control Engineer

“Help the body heal itself—how cool is that?”

What will you do as PLC Control Engineer in this exciting role?
We’re looking for a PLC Engineer with a knack for machine control. The goal? To automate our entire production process—where no human hands will be required! Want to be part of a small but passionate team developing control software for our groundbreaking electrospinning equipment (think nanofibers) and overseeing automation from raw materials to packaging?

The opportunity can be yours to pioneer new technologies from concept to completion. You’ll work on designing, programming, testing, validating, and commissioning of our automation systems, following GAMP5 guidelines (the medical version of the V-model). Key tasks include:

  • Collecting user requirements to build the production process from scratch and translating them into system requirements
  • Developing automation software (we use Beckhoff)
  • Testing and validating the software and functionality of the production process (validation will be a key focus, especially in the initial phase)
  • Creating documentation and collaborating with mechanical engineers, biologists, chemists or physicists — in-depth discussions guaranteed!

What you need to bring to the table
To start with; practicality and a passion for technology, proactiveness and the ambition to engineer solutions that will have a major and positive impact on people’s lives.
Next to that:

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or industrial automation is a must
  • Solid experience with PLC-based systems, especially Beckhoff (or similar)
  • A few years of tackling complex automation challenges in high-tech machinery
  • An eager mind for precision systems and physical processes
  • A curious mind willing to keep on learning
  • You welcome changing requirements, even late in development
  • Knowledge of GAMP5 guidelines is considered a plus
  • Fluency in English is required to communicate thoroughly and effectively
  • Available to work at least 32 hours per week (most of them in the office)

What does Vivolta have to offer?
At Vivolta, we’re all about innovation. You’ll get to work on both quick projects and longer-term developments (variety is the spice of life, right?). Plus:

  • Strong primary salary conditions fitting your experience and our internal equality
  • Excellent secondary benefits, such as pension, 30+ days off, training programs
  • A professional, fun work environment with passionate colleagues and state of the art tooling and equipment
  • Teambuilding activities to boost both your skills and your personal and team happiness
  • Cool perks like a company bike and SAR (Stock Appreciation Rights) once we go to a permanent contract!

What is medical electrospinning?
In short, it’s where science meets art. We create super-thin polymer fibers used in life-changing medical solutions—think stents, artificial blood vessels, and heart valves. These fibers mimic the natural environment of cells, reducing rejection and scarring, and ultimately help the body heal itself.
