Mechanical Engineer

“As mechanical engineer you will help the body to heal itself” (m/f)

Do you want to be part of groundbreaking innovation in the world of medicine? At Vivolta, we are revolutionizing the production of biodegradable implants with MediSpin®, the world’s first automated mass production platform for electrospinning. With over 15 years of expertise, we thrive on knowledge sharing, teamwork, and innovation. Join our ambitious and dedicated team to engineer cutting-edge medical technology that makes a real difference in people’s lives.

What will you do as Mechanical Engineer?
At Vivolta, we design and develop high-precision tooling and production machines for electrospinning. As Mechanical Engineer you are responsible for:

  • Provide technical support to colleagues, suppliers, and stakeholders
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting as part of the development process
  • Play a key role in the engineering team by designing mechanical architectures for new and customized solutions
  • Collaborate with experts in mechatronics, software, materials science, physics in order to make their dreams tangible!

What do we hope you will bring to the table?
We are looking for a proactive problem-solver who enjoys working on high-precision machines that contribute positively to people’s lives. You thrive in an innovative and team-oriented environment, where you can spar with colleagues, exchange ideas, and grow together. The machines are not aimed at great forces or fast movements, but at precision, suppleness, and ingenuity. You will be dealing with micrometers, physical processes and climate control units that you have not seen before! If this triggers your interest than we hope you bring these aspects too:

  • A completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics or similar
  • Around 3 years of experience as mechanical engineer in a high-tech environment
  • Proficiency in Inventor and/or SolidWorks
  • Experience in creating production drawings and BOM lists
  • Strong skills in concept development, design for assembly (DFA), and value engineering
  • Hands-on experience in assembling prototypes and sub-assemblies
  • Experience within the medical industry and/or cleanroom environments are considered an advantage
  • An excellent command of the English language in word and writing (Dutch is an advantage)
  • You are available for at least 32 hours per week with the willingness and ability to work in our Waalre office

What does Vivolta have to offer?
At Vivolta, you will work in an exciting, high-tech environment where innovation and positive impact go hand in hand. We offer:

  • An informal and supportive culture, where employees are valued
  • Flexible working hours and 25 up to 30 vacation days.
  • Hybrid work options but we love brainstorming together in the office!
  • A company bicycle (positive impact starts here)
  • Ongoing development opportunities through training and courses
  • A collaborative, high-tech workspace with state-of-the-art equipment and passionate colleagues
  • Regular team-building activities focused on growth and collaboration
  • Long-term career prospects, including a Stock Appreciation Rights (SAR) scheme.

What is medical electrospinning?
In short, it’s where science meets art. We create super-thin polymer fibers used in life-changing medical solutions—think stents, artificial blood vessels, and heart valves. These fibers mimic the natural environment of cells, reducing rejection and scarring, and ultimately help the body heal itself.

About us
