VIVOLTA has been awarded a grant from the Dutch Research Council (NWO) – along with collaborators Delft University, DSM, and Meatable – to investigate the feasibility of electrospinning natural and synthetic structural proteins, such as collagen and elastin, for sustainable food and biomedical applications (Project: SUSTAINER). The grant of one million euros is a part of the NWO’s Open Technology Programme, which provides funding for excellent research. Project SUSTAINER, which will run for five years, is one of six projects that were awarded funding. This consortium is led by Biological Soft Matter Professor Gijsje Koenderink and Associate Professor Biotechnology Jean-Marc Daran.
VIVOLTA is excited to be part of this research with the aim of improving patients’ lives and people’s health.
